Swing Pro Plus is an effective training device to correct your backswing by providing good posture, alignment, wrist hinge, forearm rotation and shoulder turn. Your aim is to use this training aid to familiarize yourself and develop muscle memory on how the proper swing should feel.
Place the bottom of your lead arm in the corner of the device. Insert your four fingers in the strap handle to keep your lead arm in an upright steady position. Hold the Y-shaped handle with your other hand.
Keeping your lead arm in the fixed position, start your backswing motion by moving your lead arm closer to your lead arm pocket. Holding the Y-handle, extend your arm following the lead arm position until your shoulder is aligned with your center.
Maintain your stance. Perform downswing by slowly bringing down your arms in their fixed and extended position. Rotate your shoulders and hips in the opposite direction. rotate your hips and body until your lead arm and shoulder are aligned with your center and facing the hole. Repeat backswing and downswing drill in a ratio of 10:1 - 10 swing rehearsals for each ball hit.
To practice your follow-through and swing finish, place the bottom of your lead arm in the corner of the device. Insert your four fingers in the strap handle to keep your lead arm in an upright steady position. Hold the Y-shaped handle with your lead hand.
Maintain your stance and balance. Continuing from the downswing position, rotate your body and hips in the direction of the hole. Rotate until your lead shoulder is aligned with your center and your body facing the hole.
Constant practice and repetition will reinforce the familiar feeling of proper posture and alignment. This will help instill good muscle memory until it eventually becomes a habit and instinctively your basic position. The recommended practice ratio is 10:1 - this means that 10 rehearsal swings with Swing Pro Plus with every ball hit.
